Wood Shop
Our wood shop is fully equipped to help you with your next project! We are stocked with tools including a planer, joiner, drill press, band saw, as well as dust collectors and new hand tools.
The Wave Pool wood shop is a fully equipped working space for artists, makers, and woodworkers. Equipment includes a planer, jointer, drill press, band saw, dust collection, and a full complement of hand tools.
Woodworking Fabrication Clinic
Guided sessions: Tuesdays, 6–9 pm. Open shop visits: during posted open hours.
The Woodworking Fabrication Clinic provides the shop facilities and expert mentorship to get complex creative projects made: artists fabricating a piece or a body of work for a show, makers with a furniture project. Create your pieces with guidance from the master woodworker Scottie Belissemo, who will help with project design, material selection and purchasing, technique, and problem-solving at every stage. You leave with your work built, and with the skills it took to build it.
All skill levels are welcome. Come with a project in mind and be comfortable working independently between check-ins with your mentor.
Cost
Fees purchase credits. Each credit includes:
One three-hour guided session with Scottie, with full shop use
Two open shop visits for independent work, with full shop use supervised by staff
All sessions require advance sign-up. Credits may be used anytime within a year of purchase.
Cost:
1 credit: $80 (1 session + 2 open shop visits)
4 credits: $280 (4 sessions + 8 open shop visits)
8 credits: $520 (8 sessions + 16 open shop visits)
12 credits: $720 (12 sessions + 24 open shop visits)
Yearly unlimited: $1,800. Unlimited sessions and open shop visits within a year of purchase. Limited to four participants.
